Kern Sierra Unit

Purpose

As stated in the Amended Bylaws of the Kern Sierra Unit


The purpose of this corporation is:
  1. To improve and promote the use, care and development of High Sierra back country trails, campsites, streams and meadows.
  2. To promote the conservation, utilization of our backcountry resources in concert with livestock transportation.
  3. To keep the High Sierra trails open to horsemen in the national parks and forest service areas including new wilderness area designations.
  4. To keep current information before the Association membership regarding new legislation on proposals related to government regulations of the High Sierra region.
  5. To support or opose new proposals, plans and restrictions as related to the interest of horsemen and those riders interested in packing into and enjoying the High Sierras.
  6. To promote the interest of people who, due to health or physical factors, need transportation other than by foot on High Sierra trails.
  7. To promote public awareness and interest in the historical aspects of horsemen and stock in the High Sierras.
  8. To assist in keeping the public informed of the vital need of a clean High Sierras.
  9. To keep the work and interests of the Association before our local, state and federal officials.
This corporation shall not, except to an insubstantial degree, engage in any activities or exercise any powers that are not in furtherance of the primary purposes of the corporation.
